November 2009 Update

This time of the year The Green can look very dark and brooding.  The trees have lost their leaves, and the ground is soft and muddy.  Hopefully, our newly planted seed is doing what it should, and will be there to greet us in the Spring.

The site of the old toilet behind Arthur’s Bistro is to be cleared.  The paving will be lifted soon; the barrier is already back in place.  Arthur’s have very kindly made a donation to help towards the cost of new shrubs.  The Friends extend their thanks.

At our last executive meeting we endeavoured to update our membership lists.  Should you feel you have been left off, please let us know.  If you still have not paid your subscription this year, then you can do so at our Christmas meeting.

Other items discussed included next year’s Fete, the progress with re-seeding, ongoing noise nuisance issues in the conservation area, and our regular reports from our executive officers.  If at any time you have an issue you would wish to raised in connection to The Green, do not hesitate to contact us.

I look forward to seeing you at our Christmas meeting, next Tuesday 1st December, in The Pavilion.  We will try to keep the meeting brief, in order that we can enjoy our Christmas party.

Best wishes,

Howard Roberts, Chair, Friends of Twickenham Green
