February 2009 News Update
Whilst this week’s snow may have caused chaos to commuters and the economy, it clearly brought much joy and laughter to those who use Twickenham Green. The impromptu school holiday, gave many young people a chance to have fun with the snow on The Green. Seldom can so many snowmen have been seen in one space. A joy to behold, and wonderful to see The Green bringing pleasure to so many.
Although the weather makes thoughts of sunshine seem as yet distant, the Friends of Twickenham Green are already working on events for the summer. We shall as ever be present for The Hands Fair and the Funday, and we will also be hosting our own event, The Twickenham Green Fete, scheduled this year for Sunday 12th July. We look forward to seeing you there.
Please feel free to contact us via this site. If any new members have slipped through the net, and not yet heard from us, sorry, and please get in touch.
Our next full members meeting will be held on Tuesday 3rd March, at 8:00pm in The Cricket Pavilion. New members are welcome to come along. Apart from all the regular agenda items, we will be discussing our relationship with the Cricket Club, and the use of the Green for exhibition rugby matches. I look forward to seeing you there.
