Notes from the Chair - February 2010
Our next members meeting will break with long established practice, and be on the second Tuesday of the month. Please note, the March members meeting will be on the 9th, 8:00 pm, in The Cricket Pavilion. The reason for adopting this change, is to try and ensure attendance from local councilors, who are often prevented from attending the first Tuesday by full council meetings. As we value their input, we are thus keen to try and see if altering the date of our meeting, results in greater attendance. Could those of you who have chums in The Friends who are not online, please let them know. We will of course remind everyone on the agenda, to be delivered soon.
The slow thaw has shown The Green to be in need of a little tender loving care. Even in the worst weather, a large number of groups are still making regular use of this open space. In order that the Parks department can encourage people to co-ordinate their activities, we are endeavouring to put a list together of all known groups that use The Green. In this way we hope to be able to preserve areas of The Green that might be in need of some temporary respite. We would therefore be very pleased to hear from any groups out there that use the Green. Please contact us so we can put you on our e mail list, and keep you informed of the state of The Green. We look forward to hearing from you.
Hopefully we will have a guest speaker at the next meeting, and as always we look forward to seeing you.
