Notes from the Chair – 17/05/10
Sunday 16th saw the first of this year’s events on The Green, The Jack and Jill May Fair. Despite weather that could have been more supportive, lots of young people seemed to have had a good time. It was good to see The Green being enjoyed by so many.
The Green straddles two local government wards, South and West Twichkenham. We always make the six councilors members of The Friends, and have valued their input and advice over the years. In the light of the recent elections, may I therefore welcome Councilors Claire Head, David Porter, David Marlow, Piers Allen, Helen Lee-Parsons and newcomer Lesley Pollesche. We look forward to seeing you all in the near future, both at our regular members meetings and at activities on The Green.
Recent rain has given the re-seeding a chance, and fingers crossed, The Green will remain green for the summer. We look forward to meeting you at The Hands Fair on May 31st. Come along and support all your local voluntary organizations.
